Menasha Students, Teachers Get Ready to Start the School Year
For Menasha students, teachers and parents, now is one of the more exciting times of the year. It’s a time when we head back to the classroom for another great year of teaching and learning.
What’s happening in Bluejay Nation this fall? Check out some of the latest news from the Menasha Joint School District, along with some terrific upcoming events:
Menasha Joint School District receives $73,912 grant for mental health services
MJSD joins 100 other school districts across the state that are leveraging a grant program to provide mental health education and services to students. The funds allow schools to implement resources like having more counselors available to students and working with organizations to provide programs and curriculum around important issues like suicide and substance abuse prevention.
Football program looks strong for 2019 season
Menasha’s football program is a strong contender for a Bay Conference championship heading into the 2019 season. The Bluejays hope to build on last season, when they lost in the second round of the playoffs to Marshfield. We look forward to seeing what the team can accomplish this year!
First annual Beginner Instrumental Camp trains future virtuosos
Students who will be new members of band or orchestra at Maplewood Middle School for the 2019-20 school year were invited to the first installment of a weeklong summer program. Students attended one hour of practice daily, culminating in a short concert. Band alumni from Maplewood and Menasha High School were on hand to help students, in addition to instructors from AfterBeat, a local after-school program for fourth and fifth graders offered through the district.
